Contracts Engineers x 2

Contracts Manager / Design Engineer / Project Design Manager / Project Engineer

Full-time

Up to £50,000 per annum

  • Are you craving a varied engineering / project-based role that will allow you to travel the country?
  • Do you enjoy managing large-scale installation projects and working hands-on with a team?
  • Are you a passionate individual who strives to be proud of your work?
  • Would you prefer to work closely with a team in a family business rather than be part of a large organisation where no one really knows who you are?

If you’re answering yes to the above, then these new Contracts Engineer roles with Ductec might be perfect for you!

Ductec is a family-run Yorkshire business specialising in the design, supply, installation, and service of dust and fume extraction systems for clients in the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Extremely proud of its team and the reputation built on delivering quality service, Ductec has become a recognised service provider to clients in woodwaste, metal cutting, food production, textiles, and more.

If you’ve previously worked as a projects/contract engineer and are looking to move into a role with more of a lead/management element, this could be the perfect next step for you!

No two days in this role would be the same – all of our systems are bespoke, and we do have a full Job Description, but for now this is what a typical week might look like:

  1. A day at the Heckmondwike office project managing contracts from start to finish, liaising with customers, suppliers, and installation teams to achieve quality installations on time and to budget. At any one time, you’ll be managing from 6-8 ongoing projects. You may be designing on CAD, finalising the contract of a project, completing RAMS.
  2. A few days travelling out to a site, liaising with the client to make sure installations run smoothly – this could be in a range of industries from woodwaste to laser cutting, welding to waste management, food processing to textiles.
  3. A day liaising with the client and the install team prior to project start, completing the relevant project administration whether that be ordering materials and parts, finalising drawings as well as picking up other elements on your other projects.

The perfect candidate would already have project management / coordination experience in the dust and fume extraction industry; however, we do know that this could be a tall ask, therefore if you are reading this knowing that you’ve got the transferrable skills in a relatable industry, and if you’re used to being on site, please do apply.

You should note that candidates with previous AutoCAD and IT experience producing installation drawings, RAMS, and any other formal reports to ensure legal compliance for health and safety will be a close fit for what we’re looking for.

As an engineer, whether that be qualified through degree, or qualified through experience i.e. time served, one of the key attributes that we’re looking for is someone that can use their own experiences and knowledge to make jobs run smoothly, is not scared of thinking outside of the box and taking the lead.

If this sounds interesting and something you would like to find out more about, then please apply!

Our first stage is a 15-minute Teams call to have a quick chat about the role. This offers you the chance to learn about the role and vice versa, as it’s such a unique role to fill that we know we’re likely going to be looking for someone with transferrable skills in a relatable industry.
